Mishaps happen in the studio. The bezel soldered perfectly and I was just about to solder it to the backplate so I could set the labradorite when all of a sudden, it jumped out of my hands and landed on a cement floor. Ouch. I have visions of one day being really organized. You know a place for everything and everything in its place. In addition to revamping one part of my studio, there it the other side. In particular, my jewelers bench. It's a second hand handmade bench from Craigslist and I'm ever so grateful to have it, but with only one shelf its just not functioning well. Paper Mache Displays work better when they are weighted down!   Let me show you how. I've never liked the velvet displays as they are hard to pack and show up lint, especially when photographing jewelry on them.  During my search for something better, I came across these macrame bust displays which are a heck of a lot better to pack for shows.  The nestle into each other tightly vs. being so bulky.  The only drawback was that they were light and could easily topple over.  My dear husband (DH) came up with a way to weight them down and I've been using them for over a year now and they work perfectly (for me anyway). Here's a quick video on weighing them down.

Being creative with displays is always  challenging.  How to display  my corded pendants was something I needed to work on as I found they were lost on a bust display and can get a little messy just laying on the table.  I asked my DH ( aka Rick VanderHeide - Renovation Specialist ) to create something for me. This is what he came up with using materials already in his shop. I'll see how it looks next Sunday at  Township 7 Art in the Vines .  This can be tweaked in so many ways.
