Fold-forming  is a technique of metalworking whereby metal is folded, repeatedly forged and annealed, and unfolded; at which stage it generally has a dramatic new three-dimensional form.  Fold Forming Copper - Leaf FOLD FORM Bracelet with leaf and rivets Fold Form Bracelet This bracelet was created using T-fold techniques for the bracelet. The Leaf  was made sperately then attached with a rivet on one end and encased with the metal.  Using a heat patina to create all these beautiful colors.

SOLDERING After taking a spinner ring class, I decided it was time to try another one.  When I was at the stage to flare the ring for the spinners, I realized the ring was too wide for my fingers, so I decided to fold the copper all the way over. The solder joint wasn't soldered very well and it split a little which is OK as it goes with the funky design. One of the Fist rule in soldering - "Solder doesn't fill gaps" I have a way to go in my journey learning how to solder. The ring is made with copper sheet metal. It's been textured using a variety of hammers, then folded over.  Sterling Silver and brass embellishments have been added.

The Spinner Ring and Treasure Bangle were made with 22 gauge copper sheet. The colors were obtained with a torch.  More to come in the future.  Treasure Bangle Bracelet Spinning Ring

Pure Copper Pendant  Twisted, coiled & re-coiled This bead is made from pure copper wire which was twisted, coiled then coiled again. A light patina was added to give it a beautiful aged look.

PUFFED HEART PENDANT EXPERIMENT I made this copper heart pendant which involves several techniques.  I originally put a stamp along the edges but it seemed to disappear during puffing the heart. The beautiful colors were achieved using a Smith Torch. I put a vintage chain on it but I feel it really takes away from the piece so I will look for something else and post more pics once I change it. I'll revisit this at a later date.

Cold Connections This lovely bracelet is made from copper with sterling silver jump rings and clasp.  The method is called Cold Connection as there is no heat used to join any of the pieces.  There are several different techniques incorporated into this piece.  It starts with copper sheet metal which is cut into the desired shape than textured.  The embellishments are attached with rivets.  Once the piece is complete, it is antiqued to give it an antique look.  This is a very attractive piece that always get's a lot of attention.

  Pure Copper Bracelet This bracelet is made with beautiful 14 mm Red Sponge Coral beads.   The focal bead is wrapped with coiled wire surrounded by beads caged within the wire. I love the color red with copper.

I started a meetup group called Jewelry Junkies of the Fraser Valley .  We've recently celebrated our 1st Anniversary in October and we've been having a lot of fun meeting new creative people.
