Facebook Parties: A Social Media Marketing Success

Image
Facebook Parties:  A Social Medial Marketing Success Yesterdays #CountryCornerVintageMarket #FacebookParty (hosted by Leah of #TheOldeFarmhouse) was a BIG success. I'd never participated in a "Facebook Party" prior to this and I LIKED it. The party generated excitement among the customers and vendors.  With everyone sharing the EVENT through their #Facebook, #Twitter and other social media outlets, it really helps spread the word.  I especially like how it gives EVERYONE the same chance to receive something from the vendors AND increases awareness and traffic to the participating vendors Facebook page. It supports local businesses which have so many benefits for our communities. The participating vendors will be at this weekends #MapleRidgeCountryFest in the curling rink. I hope to see more organizers using this form of marketing for their upcoming shows. If you want more info on Facebook parties or social media marketing, Suzanne of Sprouted Media ran t

FACEBOOK PARTY!

Image
Have you been to a Facebook party lately? The Olde Farmhouse will be hosting the "Country Corner Vintage Market" on July 26th and 27th at Country Fest in Maple Ridge. To celebrate, they are hosting a #FacebookParty. The Vendors of the "Country Corner Vintage Market" (hosted by the #OldeFarmhouse), have donated prizes to be given away to lucky shoppers during the party.  In order to qualify, you just have to visit the Facebook page of the vendor's prize as it is offered, LIKE it, then return to the events page to comment that you have done so.  Then answer a fun  (and very easy)   question asked on that post and cross your fingers.  Every 4-5 minutes (or so), a new prize is offered up.  A  random number generator is used to pick each winner.   The winners must pick up their prize at the market, from the vendors booth. The Facebook party will take place on July 22nd, 2014 from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm.  During the party time, you just hav

Enameled Calla Lily Earrings

Image
It's funny how you can start in one direction and end up in a totally different one. I sketched out a design and cut it out of sheet metal to make a pair of earrings.   As I was playing with the metal, it wanted to go in it's own direction. I added enamel and WOW - the color possibilities are amazing. Combined with sterling silver, it's a beautiful garden dangling from your earlobes.   I think they are just stunning. $75.00 each pair Orange - SOLD

Setting GOALS and achieving them...

Image
Setting Goals and achieving them feels "oh so good". As you may already know, I started on my jewelry making journey in 2009 and after a few years I realized I needed to sell what I was making in order to buy more materials. My quest for 2014 was to seek out markets to sell my jewelry.  I started keeping a list of shows customers and other artists were recommending, and fortunately there are many well organized Art/Artisan shows in the Greater Vancouver and Fraser Valley area.  With list in hand, I started applying and booking shows. The art of jewelry as an art form can make it tough to get into some shows as there are so many talented designers out there and limited spots available. In addition to the already great shows I've already been accepted into, I'm happy to announce two more shows. Drum roll please..... You will find debVdesigns at this years #Hycroft Christmas Show in November and the #MakeItVancouver show in December. YEAH!  Is it too early

Art in the Vines

Image
There was a great turnout at Township 7 Vineyard and Winery's "Art in the Vines" Event on Sunday. All the vendors donated a gift to be raffled for the benefit of Osteoporosis of Canada Society. I was so grateful that the lady who chose my donation of "Enameled Copper Lily" earrings came to my booth to let me know she was so happy to have received them. My display is constantly evolving with each event and I'm learning "less is more".  I like how it turned out and have a few more tweaks in mind for the next show in 4 weeks.  It's good to change it up so it doesn't become stale or predictable. The same goes for my jewelry and introducing new designs keeps it fresh and new.  I hadn't enameled for awhile and this past month or so I've been drawn back to them.  Oh La La - the colors are amazing, and just in time for the summer. Here are a few pictures of my setup. My new banner ads a nice touch to the booth. Less is more.
