I attended to the Fraser Valley Bead Show this weekend at its new location in Burnaby. Loads of FREE parking which I think everyone loved. Barrie changed the format a little this year offering free demos each day which were taught by her and a few other talented instructors. "Making Silver Balls" was one of the offerings and I thought, hey, I already know how to make silver balls but I'd often wondered how Barrie got so many balls on her beautiful jewerly without them jumping all over the place. I'm happy I signed up for the FREE demonstration as I learned a lots of great tricks. I see silver balls in my near future. Barrie also demonstrated "Making Small Bezels" with fine silver bezel strip wire. Also learned a few little tips and tricks for tweeking a few tools. Kelly Allanson taught the only paid class which was on Gypsy settings. It was a great class and lots learned. Looking forward to getting back into the studio and trying out a few new techniques. This is a photo of the 5mm bezel Barrie demo'd.
